Whether you have a solid foundation of family or perhaps you’re walking alone trying to figure this thing called “Life” out, I hope you find encouragement and guidance to help you reach your dreams.
WHY Do I Invest My Time Here?
I find meaning in life by meeting people where they’re at, helping them define success, and inspiring, encouraging, and guiding them along the road to their unique God-given dreams.
This all started with the simple desire to pass along some wisdom and inspiration to my three daughters. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like I was doing this very well in casual conversation, so I decided to write some thoughts on a Post-It Note and leave it on their bathroom mirror for them to find in the morning. Although I still leave physical notes, this website has become a place where I can store those Post-Its and document my thoughts for posterity… sort of a digital journal if you will, and there are always more thoughts on the blog than can fit on a Post-It Note.
WHY Should You Invest Your Time Here?
I believe you’ll find life-improving Truth on the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual levels that will help you live a life of purpose that creates a meaningful legacy, not regret.

“The more I see, the less I know for sure.” – John Lennon
I don’t have all the answers, but as I’ve reached what I hope is the midpoint of my life and looked around at the confusion and chaos in our world, I felt the need to share some of the wisdom that comes from serving in the Marines, being the first in my immediate family to graduate college (a B.S. in Computer Science, an MBA, a Master of Education, and all but a dissertation for a Ph.D. in Education Administration), working in roles such as public school teacher, consultant, and vice president, and the Grace experienced by walking with Jesus for over a decade.
WHY All The Christian References?
“I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike Christ. – Gandhi
If you’re not a Christian, that’s ok… Your relationship with God won’t affect my relationship with you, because, while I’m a Christian now, I haven’t always been. To be honest, much of my life I had a hard time tolerating the religious-types, but then I met The God of The Bible, and He replaced the god that I had created in my mind, an invention influenced by what I learned from some well-meaning religious folks and organizations.
Nowadays, I try to live and teach the simplicity of The God of The Bible, which is why I include a section called God’s Word in my Post-It Notes. It’s not complicated. In fact, you can boil the entire Character of God down into one word: Love (1st John 4:8), and Jesus boiled all 613 (or so) Old Testament Commandments down to two: Love God & Love People (Matthew 22:36-40). And in case you’re wondering, Love, according to God, looks like (in no particular order): Humility, Forgiveness (and Forgetting – not a very popular idea), Patience, Kindness, Encouragement, Consistency, Contentment, Joy, Service, Protection, Truthful, Hopeful, Faithful, Gentleness, and Self-Control (Galatians 5:22-23 & 1st Corinthians 13:4-8).
I understand if you don’t Believe, but I Hope you’ll be open-minded enough to at least listen, because, you’ll find no hate here, and who knows, you may just find The God of The Bible too, but regardless of where you’re at on your Faith journey, I want you to feel at home.
