“Everything gets harder if you start going on and on about how hard it is.” – N.D. Wilson
Our attitude is determined by the seeds we plant, the soil we fertilize, and the water we allow in our minds. If the seed, fertilizer, and water are good, then we will have an attitude that grows Joy and Success. If any of the three are toxic, then our attitude, which is the foundation of our behavior, will be diminished according to the level of toxic input that we allow.
James Allan’s, As a Man Thinketh, is a classic and a must-read as it relates to this topic – I highly recommend it.
My Girls, I Hope and Pray that you will be able to take your toxic thoughts captive by focusing on the good around you, the resources you have at your disposal (not the ones you don’t), and keeping your eyes fixed on the goal (not the problems), realizing that God is going to work all things out for the good of those who love Him and are moving in His Purpose. Lastly, always remember that the Biblical definition of Success is found in living your life in such a way (Loving God and People) that when it’s over and you’re standing before Jesus, you hear Him say, “Well done, My good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:14-28)
Challenge Question: What thoughts will shape your attitude today?
God’s Word: Proverbs 23:7, Philippians 4:8, 2nd Corinthians 10:4-5, & Romans 8:28-30 & 12:9-21
