Brandy, Addy, and Grace,
“If you want to run, run a mile. If you want to experience a different life, run a marathon.” – Emil Zatopek
I enjoy longer endurance sports training because it develops me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I run the races because I need to know how well I’ve lived and trained. You see, the tests show me the gap between my goals and my reality, which allows me to make adjustments to my life.
When it comes to challenges or goals, we have a choice – dream big or small. The small stuff requires little commitment and dedication, but there’s also little reward in them. However, the big dreams… well, those require clarity of vision (determining where you want to go), a plan (how you’re going to get there), intentional living (the journey to the goal), and honest assessments along the way (the races that tell you how you’re doing).
My Girls, I Hope and Pray that you will dream big, realizing that big dreams aren’t always glamorous… in fact, your mother is the best example of someone who set a big goal (raising y’all and homeschooling two of you) that by the world’s standard isn’t glorious, but in Light of Eternity is huge… Anyway, I hope you dream big and allow the challenges to cause you to live a different life – a good life with Eternal Value… be like your mom.
Challenge Question: What race will you train for or run TODAY?
God’s Word: 1st Corinthians 9:24-27, Hebrews 12:1-2, Isaiah 40:31, Philippians 3:13-14, and 2nd Timothy 4:7.
