“When you come across a hill on your bicycle, you don’t have to change your gear, but you do have to change your mindset.” – Dad
I had an Army Ranger acquaintance (I can’t recall his name), and as we were talking about challenges in life, he relayed a story that captures the essence of today’s quote.
A mindset is a collection of attitudes that determine how we will approach life, and we’ll need several of them for the different situations that we face daily. For example:
- Learning and Improvement Mindset: How we approach continuous learning, reflection, and improvement.
- Achievement Mindset: How we approach setting goals and accomplishing the tasks before us.
- Success Mindset: How we handle success and achievement. Remember the JJ Watt Note.
- Problem Identification and Resolution Mindset: How we approach the hills of life.
My Girls, as you go through life, you will need to gather up positive attitudes that focus on success and continuous improvement for the different situations you face, and then when the time comes, change/switch your mindset so that you will continue to achieve.
Challenge Question: Which mindsets do you think you’ll need to draw upon TODAY?
God’s Word: Philippians 2:5-8, Matthew 11:28-30, and 1st Corinthians 2:16
