Moby Dick, A Row Boat, And Some Tartar Sauce

8/9/18

“I’m so optimistic, I’d go after Moby Dick in a rowboat and take the tartar sauce with me.” – Zig Ziglar

Optimism is an attitude – the outward expression of Faith and Hope.

I heard a story once (in the movie Facing the Giants) about two farmers who were facing a drought. Both farmers Prayed for rain. After the Prayer, one farmer set on his porch and watched the sky, but the other one went out and prepared his field. Which of these farmers do you think really had Faith and Hope that God would Provide?

My Girls, there are always going to be situations in life, where Faith and Hope are required to move forward. It’s in these times that you will have the choice to be optimistic or pessimistic, and that choice will determine whether or not you get off the porch to prepare your field.

You have to choose whether the issue in front of you is a problem or an opportunity.

Challenge Question: What does Faith, Hope, and Optimism look like for you TODAY?

God’s Word: Joshua 1:9, Romans 8:28-30, and Hebrews 11
