Many people look for happiness and joy in selfish endeavors… these are things that tend to only benefit you (and maybe the close inner-circle that also benefits you), but those things will die out with you and yours. True life purpose, however, is found in sharing and passing along your God-given gifts and talents to build up and help make better those who He brings into your life so that they too can achieve all that He has for them.
