Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. – Henry Ford
There are going to be challenges along the way to your dreams – things you must do and obstacles that you must overcome. These challenges are what make your dream worthy of your time and effort, and it’s in these that the reward of achievement gains its value. However, you shouldn’t allow challenges to steal your focus from your dreams. If you do, fear will likely creep in, and eventually, you will grow tired, weary, and overwhelmed, which will slow your forward progress or halt it altogether.
This is what happened to Peter, when he stepped out of the boat to walk on the water with Jesus… once he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the wind and waves, he began to sink, but like the sinking feelings you’ll have in life too, once he cried out to Jesus, he was lifted back up out of the water. From this act of physical saving grace, Peter made his first profession that Jesus is the Son of God. (Matthew 14:22-33)
